The Breath of All Mankind

Nature is not quiet. The wind whispers to the leaves in the tree; waves crash against the shore in a never-ending dance; and the creatures sing their harmonies and add to nature’s song. All of this noise, and yet my mind is quieted when I hear it. I stop thinking about all the things that consume my thoughts. It’s only me in the present moment. I become part of nature’s song: My feet crunching the fallen leaves; my breath being carried by the wind. I can’t help but be distracted by it's beauty when I encounter it. I’m drawn in by the display of God’s creation and the idea of a relief from the chaos of the world, even if that distraction is only for a moment.
